• Sunday, May 18 -- Heritage Sunday:
  Bishop Ough at Worthington
  On May 18, Bishop Ough will be preaching at both services. He will be bringing official greetings and congratulations from our Conference. Make every effort to be present and to extend a warm welcome to him on this Heritage Sunday.
  Come, and enjoy:

  • Historical Displays. Vivian Schweb and her committee are preparing beautiful historical displays. Each of our 4 churches will be featured with interesting facts and pictures. Enjoy the display tables of historical items appropriate to each church. If you have items you would like to share that day, please call Vivian. 436-6274.
  • Dress in Period Costumes. Plan to come dressed in clothes appropriate to any period in our church history. For example - pioneer dresses, leisure suits, pink & black outfits from the 50's, Jackie Kennedy sheath dresses and pill box hats from the 60's, wild plaid pants from the 70's and 80's, outfits from the roaring 20's.
  • Fellowship. Enjoy old fashion sugar cookies and other treats with great conversation during coffee hour.
  • Flower Project. See all the colorful flowers that have been planted in the parking lot islands and around the church.

More Ways to Get Involved!

WUMC Cookbook to Celebrate our 200th Anniversary

Get your favorite recipes ready to contribute to the WUMC cookbook. The youth will be organizing this project and collecting recipes during the month of May through June 8th. The bulletin, welcome center, and church office will have copies of the form you need to fill out to submit your recipes. Feel free to submit more than one recipe. You may also email your recipes to heather@worthingtonumc.com. We would love for everyone to be part of this project. Cookbooks will be ready in September as we continue our 200th Anniversary Celebration. There will be preorders taken for the cookbook. They will make great gifts! Download the Recipe Submission Form in either a Word .doc file format [DOC] or in an Adobe .pdf file format [PDF].

200th Anniversary Cat's Meow Replicas

Both churches have been replicated as famous Cat's Meow artwork. They are available starting Sunday, May 4, in the Ministry Hallway. We ordered 200, and 155 have already been spoken-for.
